Arsenal will be evaluating every possible angle as to how they can replace Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli in forward areas.

Arsenal have been rocked by the news that Kai Havertz will miss the remainder of the campaign following surgery on a hamstring injury sustained in Dubai.

Mikel Arteta had been confident in Havertz playing every game but the incredible workload the striker has had to endure this season has now caught up with him at the worst possible time for the club.

Arteta must now be creative with his team selections and the fact that Arsenal don’t have a recognised striker must fill one former academy talent with regret at his departure from the club.

Chido Obi-Martin would have been striker option for Arsenal had he not departed to Manchester United

Arsenal tried to convince Chido Obi-Martin to stay at the club but the Hale End graduate chose to snub the Gunners’ contract offer and sign for Manchester United.

Arsenal fans were left shocked by Obi-Martin’s wage demands but given the current situation at Arsenal, the youngster must now regret his decision to leave with a first team opportunity having passed him by.

The striker is yet to feature for Manchester United first team this season despite Obi-Martin scoring a 14 minute hat-trick on his debut for United’s U18 side.

Obi-Martin would now be in the running to start for Arteta’s side following the decimation of his striking options in recent weeks.

Ayden Heaven’s decision to join Manchester United more understandable

Obi-Martin isn’t the only Arsenal academy talent to swap Hale End for Manchester recently as Ayden Heaven joined Manchester United in January.

Heaven has tripled his Instagram followers since joining Ruben Amorim’s side but that isn’t the only reason he departed from the Gunners.

Heaven’s pathway to the United first team is a little smoother than trying to dislodge the likes of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in the Arsenal set up.

It may prove to be a smart piece of thinking by the young defender and Obi-Martin must now be wishing he did the same before making his decision last summer.
