Arsenal star Kai Havertz is facing a long spell on the sidelines as the true extent of his injury concern has been revealed.
The striker has been a key figure for the Gunners this season, starting almost every game as a forward or in midfield when required.
While his goal-scoring has come into question, Mikel Arteta has backed the German international to be the starting option for him.
That reliance has come at a cost though, with a lack of business in the January transfer window leaving very few options beyond him at Arsenal.
Now, with Kai Havertz picking up a hamstring injury while training in Dubai, there are fresh concerns over his time out.

Kai Havertz injury length revealed along with surgery
Havertz’s injury comes as a huge blow to the side, with a hamstring issue leaving Arsenal without many centre-forward options.
Gabriel Jesus is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury, leaving just the German international as the only recognised senior striker.
There were hopes that Havertz wouldn’t be out for long, but the issue is much worse than anyone would’ve expected.
According to the Athletic, the forward is now set to miss the rest of the season through a serious hamstring tear.
Havertz is set for surgery to help repair the issue, similar to that of Bukayo Saka’s earlier in the campaign, with focus now set for the returning next season.
It comes as a huge problem for Mikel Arteta, who now lacks a centre-forward for the rest of the campaign and will have to make some changes to his team.

Arsenal made to regret the January transfer window
With both Jesus and Havertz now sidelined for a while, Arsenal will come to regret their lack of action in the January transfer window.
The Gunners pushed hard, making enquiries for Mathys Tel, while a bid was rejected for Ollie Watkins by Aston Villa.
Focus then shifted away from the winter window and into the summer, but it hasn’t left Arteta well-equipped to deal with the rest of the season.
Instead it leaves the manager extremely short and may adjust the expectations of him for the rest of the season.
