Gabriel Jesus was handed another opportunity to impact a game from the bench for Arsenal on Sunday.
With the Gunners chasing a goal to win the game against Chelsea, Mikel Arteta brought Gabriel Jesus into the action with ten minutes plus stoppage time to go at Stamford Bridge.
Ultimately, the North London club failed to find the strike they needed, despite Leandro Trossard sending Arteta to the turf in anguish as he failed to convert a golden opportunity with the final kick of the game.
The Spanish coach will now reflect upon his side’s performance, and his own tactics and substitutions, in order to figure out what went wrong in West London.

Gabriel Jesus let Arsenal down against Chelsea
Jesus is a player that Arteta ought to be able to rely upon to impact games.
The 27-year-old should be at the peak of his powers at this stage in his career. The former Manchester City man has four Premier League titles to his name, and over 70 goals in the top flight of English football.
However, he has now been in woeful form for some time. He has only scored once for the Gunners since January, and that came in a recent EFL Cup clash against Championship outfit Preston North End.
In a literal sense, Jesus offered nothing when he came on against Chelsea. The stats, sourced from WhoScored, underline just how little impact he was able to have.
| Shots | 0 |
| Dribbles | 0 |
| Key Passes | 0 |
| Passes | 10 |
| Pass Accuracy | 80% |
| Aerial Duels Won | 0 |
| Tackles | 0 |
| Interceptions | 0 |
Obviously, he did not have a huge amount of time on the pitch in which to exert a great deal of influence, but Trossard and Mikel Merino were both also introduced as second half substitutes against the Blues and were able to make their presence felt.
Can Arsenal sell Jesus in January?
Jesus is one of the highest paid players in Arsenal squad, and the Gunners haven’t been getting anything close to a fair return on their investment in his services for some time.
The 64-cap Brazil international is no longer seriously competing for a starting berth at the Emirates Stadium, and has failed to prove himself to be an effective substitute. Arteta must now seriously be questioning what the player has to offer.
Jesus talked Arsenal into keeping faith in him this summer, but he has failed to deliver on whatever promises he made.
Arsenal must now do all they can to find a buyer for Jesus in the upcoming January transfer window, as getting his wages off the books is a must. Attracting a suitor for the forward could well prove easier said than done, though.
