Jorginho can help Arsenal seal £63m Victor Osimhen transfer with surprise new move

Arsenal’s search for a striker over the recent summer transfer window didn’t quite pan out as many expected.

The Gunners were linked with a whole host of options, including Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

In the end, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar avoided entering the market for a centre-forward, instead bolstering elsewhere.

With Eddie Nketiah leaving in the same window, it puts a lot of reliance on Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus to provide the goals upfront.

That doesn’t mean the Arsenal won’t go back into the market for a striker, with a chance to land Osimhen still on the cards.

Arsenal can still seal Victor Osimhen transfer

Plenty of people were left surprised when Osimhen left Napoli to join Galatasaray on a season-long loan in the summer window.

With the Nigerian international impressing at the top level, there were plenty of links with switches to Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG.

While Osimhen is set to spend some time in Turkey, he could still make a move to the Emirates Stadium due to a break clause in the deal that can be activated in January.

On top of that, Fabrizio Romano has reported that a new contract signed by the striker has seen his release clause reduced to just €75million (£63million).

Arsenal may not be the only team looking to trigger that though, which is where Jorginho could help.

How Jorginho could help Arsenal sign Victor Osimhen

According to recent reports, Galatasaray are showing interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Jorginho before the end of the Turkish transfer window.

While the Gunners are hoping to resist the approach for the Italian star, they may face a tricky situation where he wants to make the move.

With just one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium and a backup role likely, a switch could still be made.

If he were to then join Galatasaray, Arteta may be hopeful that Jorginho could put in a few good words to Osimhen about a move.

Something similar happened with Kai Havertz joining from Chelsea, which came as a huge transfer boost.

If the same were to happen with Osimhen, it would be with the help of Jorginho making the switch to Turkey.
