Arsenal and Liverpool are expected to be the main contenders for the Premier League title in 2025/26.
Manchester City will also be in the mix in the upcoming campaign, but the two teams that finished above them are much better defensively.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool have had brilliant transfer windows already, and both clubs are looking to further strengthen their squads.
However, Arne Slot may miss out on his dream target because of his predecessor at Anfield.

Boost for Arsenal as Liverpool’s Alexander Isak dream could be over
Liverpool’s dream target this summer is Alexander Isak.
The Reds have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike, but it’s the Swede they want more than anyone else.
Liverpool have had a huge bid rejected for Isak already, but there was a feeling that they would go back in with another offer once Newcastle United found a replacement.
That may not happen now.
Newcastle’s top target, Benjamin Sesko, is on the verge of snubbing the Toon for Manchester United, which means that the Magpies have no replacement for Isak yet.
The Slovenia international plays for RB Leipzig, where Jurgen Klopp works as the Global Sports Director, overseeing all the clubs owned by the Red Bull group.
The German, who is a Liverpool legend, could’ve tried to convince Leipzig, as well as Sesko, to join a Champions League club like Newcastle instead of Manchester United.
However, Jurgen Klopp either didn’t attempt to do that, or he failed, as it looks like Sesko is on his way to Old Trafford to complete his transfer.
Advantage Arsenal in the Premier League title race over Liverpool
Liverpool are still a very strong side, even if they don’t sign Isak.
The Merseyside giants have Mohamed Salah, who was one of the best players in the world last season, and their defence is not far off Arsenal’s level either.
However, Mark Clattenberg claimed that Arsenal will win the Premier League if Liverpool don’t sign Isak, and that could happen now.
With Sesko set to join Manchester United, Newcastle have nobody to replace Isak with, so it seems very likely that they will block his exit.
Liverpool, as a result, will have to go into the season without their dream target, and that may give a slight edge to Arsenal in the race, especially if they land their top target, Eberechi Eze.
