Martin Odegaard gets humiliated twice by midfielder who David Ornstein said Arsenal don’t want to sign

Martin Odegaard had a disappointing outing as Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest.

Mikel Arteta’s side were definitely the better side, but once again, they failed to convert any of the four big chances they created in the game.

Odegaard was meant to be Arsenal’s creative force in the middle of the park, but the Norway international was nowhere near his best.

Two instances on either side of half-time summed up his entire performance.

Prove me wrong, Martin Odegaard does not offer enough to Arsenal anymore.

Elliot Anderson embarrassed Martin Odegaard during Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

Martin Odegaard has had a mixed season at Arsenal.

The Gunners skipper suffered three different injuries in the first few weeks of the season and could barely play until the end of November.

Since his return, Odegaard has produced a few excellent performances, but there have been games in which he has not been great at all.

The draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday was one such game, and Elliot Anderson completely dominated him.

In the 10th minute of the game, when Odegaard got on the ball, the Forest midfielder went shoulder-to-shoulder with him, leaving the Arsenal skipper on the ground.

In the 46th minute of the game, in near-identical fashion, Odegaard was thrown to the floor again as Anderson ran away with the ball.

It was too easy for the Englishman, and it was no surprise to see Arteta take his captain off just 11 minutes after that incident.

Agree or disagree, Ethan Nwaneri would’ve had more of an impact than Martin Odegaard this season.

Arsenal don’t want to sign Elliot Anderson

Anderson is expected to be one of the biggest names in the summer transfer window.

Several reports have claimed that he will be the next £100 million-plus player in the Premier League, and multiple clubs are interested in his services.

However, David Ornstein revealed that Arsenal are the only big club who don’t want to sign Anderson in the summer.

That’s because the Gunners view their midfield as ‘filled’ thanks to Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi’s fantastic partnership in the middle of the park.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal’s stance will change on that front after seeing what Anderson did to Odegaard on Saturday.
