Mikel Arteta should have been watching the impact Bradley Barcola made off the bench against Senegal and telling Andrea Berta to bring him to Arsenal.

Berta is looking to sign a left winger for Arsenal this summer and the Frenchman is one of the names on their list of targets.

The 23-year-old could leave the French capital this summer in search of more regular game time as he finds himself behind Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the pecking order.

Arsenal are among the clubs targeting Barcola and are now weighing up moves for both him and Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa.

Arsenal should be targeting Bradley Barcola after his performance vs Senegal

Arsenal should be doing everything within their power to bring Bradley Barcola to the Emirates Stadium this summer following his performance against Senegal.

Arsenal have already made calls for Barcola this summer, and these talks should be accelerated after his top cameo at the World Cup.

However, PSG setting a £112 million asking price on Barcola could make a deal very tricky for the Gunners, but he’s just proved why he could be worth that amount.

Barcola came off the bench to help France storm away with the win as the youngster managed to get his name on the scoresheet.

The attacker produced a lovely finish to beat Edouard Mendy and to double France’s lead against the African nation.

The left winger was only on the field for 10 minutes, yet he managed one goal, seven carries, six completed passes and won two duels.

Barcola netted 11 goals in Ligue 1 last term, and adding that many goals from out wide could be the difference maker in the Champions League.

In truth, Arsenal’s attack last season did not contribute enough; therefore, it’s key that they sign a player who will add a serious goal threat to the team.

Arsenal must prioritise Bradley Barcola over Morgan Rogers

Arsenal have been tipped to sign both Rogers and Barcola, but that seems unlikely at this stage, unless they make a big sale in attack.

Arteta seems intent on adding to Arsenal’s English core, but he really should be considering Barcola as a strong alternative to Rogers.

Rogers is already a similar profile to the likes of Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka in terms of being a ball carrier, but Arsenal could do with a more dynamic winger.

If Arsenal are really serious about winning the European Cup, they need to assess the qualities which Arteta’s team is actually missing rather than just going for someone like Rogers.
