Arsenal are ready for a busy summer transfer window in order to build a squad finally capable of landing the Premier League title.

Arsenal are set to appoint Andrea Berta in the ‘next hours’ and the sporting director will be working closely with Mikel Arteta to land Arsenal’s top targets in the summer window.

Arsenal are interested in Hugo Ekitike but still harbour hopes of landing their top striker target of Alexander Isak from Newcastle, despite strong interest from Liverpool.

Martin Zubimendi’s transfer to Arsenal could have a twist after it was revealed that Real Madrid have entered the race for the Spanish midfielder but the Gunners could sign an alternative that already has the approval of an Arsenal legend.

Arsenal should sign Eduardo Camavinga as Martin Zubimendi alternative

Should Zubimendi complete a transfer to Real Madrid, the Gunners should capitalise by bringing Eduardo Camavinga to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have admired Camavinga for a long while and as per HITC, Thierry Henry labelled Camavinga as ‘outstanding’ during a Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Should Spanish international Zubimendi head to Madrid, the French midfielder would move further down Carlo Ancelotti’s pecking order and Arteta could pounce.

Camavinga is a strong, powerful presence in the heart of midfield and with an eye for a pass with his left foot, he would bring great balance to the Gunners midfield.

Camavinga has outperformed Zubimendi this season

Having both been involved in La Liga this season, it is easy to compare the impacts that Camavinga and Zubimendi have had on their respective clubs.

It would be a shrewd move from Arteta if he were to approach Real Madrid over the possibility of signing Camavinga who has proven to have the upper hand in a number of key metrics this season.

Arsenal would be signing a slightly younger profile in Camavinga, whilst the French international also has proven to be more secure on the ball and better at retrieving it.

No final decision has been made on Zubimendi’s future but the Gunners need to be proactive in the case that he does choose Real Madrid and there can be no better alternative than Eduardo Camavinga
