Arsenal are set to begin their summer revamp with a new sporting director in place.
Arsenal’s Premier League title bid was derailed with a poor January transfer window, fans were furious with Stan Kroenke for showing a lack of ambition at the club.
The plans for the window were hampered by Edu Gaspar resigning back in November 2024 and was replaced on an interim basis by Jason Ayto.
Arsenal have looked at many different replacements for the Brazilian including former Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth and it now seems an announcement is imminent.

Arsenal expected to announce ‘major’ Andrea Berta development
Arsenal have been talking with Andrea Berta for a while and now according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on his X account an official announcement could be made in the ‘next hours.’
The timing of the announcement will give the club a boost going into their end of season fixtures with a Champions League quarter final tie against Real Madrid on the horizon.
It will also allow Berta some time to settle at the Emirates Stadium before what is arguably the biggest summer transfer window during Mikel Arteta’s reign at the club.
With Arsenal having fallen short in a number of areas this campaign, Berta must hit the ground running and help to elevate the Gunners into the elite of European football.
Berta has a huge task on his hands at Arsenal
Berta has signed some top strikers in the past at former club Atletico Madrid and that position will be at the top of his list this summer with the likes of Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko linked.
In addition, Berta has been instructed by Arteta to sign Nico Williams as the Gunners add some much-needed pace and power to their forward options.

Another important task in-house for Berta to sort is the contract situations of key players Bukayo Saka and William Saliba as their current deals are set to expire in 2027.
Jorginho and Thomas Partey are out of contract this summer and are expected to depart along with the likes of Kieran Tierney and others who Berta will need to find moves away for.
