Arsenal star Martin Zubimendi helped Spain beat Georgia in their World Cup qualifier.

The midfielder has become a mainstay in Luis de la Fuente’s side, with Manchester City star Rodri missing a big chunk of last season due to injury.

Zubimendi has been so good that Spain haven’t even missed Rodri. The Arsenal midfielder showed his class once again when Georgia came to the Estadio Martinez Valero on Saturday.

Arsenal star Martin Zubimendi dominated his duels during Spain vs Georgia

Mikel Arteta said and did a lot of things at Arsenal that became famous thanks to the All or Nothing Amazon documentary.

From playing the Liverpool anthem during training to using a light bulb to motivate his players before the game, there were many interesting bits.

One of Arteta’s most famous lines from the documentary was about duels.

After Arsenal lost to then-Championship side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup in 2022, Arteta was furious with his players and said: “When I lose a duel, I’m upset.”

On Saturday night, we think the Arsenal manager would’ve been over the moon watching Spain in action as Martin Zubimendi won every single aerial and ground duel he contested against Georgia.

The Spaniard was outstanding in the middle of the park, and his form is excellent news for Arteta and everyone at Arsenal ahead of the upcoming games.

If Zubimendi continues to play at the same level, Arsenal will win more games than not.

Martin Odegaard’s overall stats in Spain vs Georgia

Zubimendi is as complete a midfielder as they come.

The 26-year-old is naturally a number six, but his role isn’t just to break play up. He is tasked with building attacks, and he does that brilliantly.

Against Georgia, Zubimendi had 101 touches of the ball and completed 91 of his 96 attempted passes, maintaining a stunning 95 per cent passing accuracy. He was also successful with every single one of his seven long passes.

Off the ball, Zubimendi won two tackles, made three interceptions and two recoveries. He also wasn’t dribbled past a single time in the entire game. (Sofascore)

It was a truly stunning display by Zubimendi, and we are excited to see him perform in the same way for Arsenal in the coming weeks and months.
