Mauricio Pochettino’s USA side continue to impress at this World Cup and after seeing off Australia to secure a place in the knockout phase, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would be wise to swoop on one American star.
One of three home nations, team USA are among the best performers in the entire competition so far.
Former Arsenal academy star Folarin Balogun has been catching the eye, while other familiar faces like Tim Ream, Christian Pulisic and Antonee Robinson have impressed.
However, while those names are performing well, Arsenal fans – and Mikel Arteta – would be wise to keep a close watch on right-sided full-back, Sergino Dest.

Sergino Dest is the ideal second option for Arsenal at right-back
We all know this summer that Arsenal are going to look for a full-back.
Ben White’s Arsenal career looks to be coming to an end, while Jurrien Timber’s injuries mean the Gunners need someone else who can fill in when needed.
With Timber, we see one of the best full-backs in the world. He’s capable going forward but defensively is where he excels.
However, if Arsenal are to keep progressing as a team, they need further options and USA star Sergino Dest has shown just how good he is already this summer.
Formerly of Ajax and Barcelona, Dest’s name is not a new one to Arsenal fans. The club have watched him on more than one occasion under different managers.

Now, though, he is proving with the USA that he has reached a level where he could be ready for the next step in his career.
Dest was exceptional in the opening game and arguably even better against Australia this evening.
Dest completed three successful dribbles, made 96% of his attempted passes and in the opposition third, he managed to have three shots on goal.
In terms of pure attacking purpose, there have been few better in this World Cup than Dest.
Indeed, if Arsenal want a full-back who has all the hallmarks of Achraf Hakimi, then Dest might just be the man for them during this summer window.
