Arsenal need to learn from past mistakes during this summer’s transfer window.

The club are yet to officially announce their first signing however, Martin Zubimendi is in London to finalise his move from Real Sociedad.

Arsenal fans are hoping for news on a move for a striker as Andrea Berta continues to negotiate for Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres.

Mikel Arteta is desperate for more attacking reinforcements alongside a centre forward and will be hoping that the club’s recruitment team have learned from a major blunder last summer.

Arsenal must learn from Raheem Sterling mistake this summer

Raheem Sterling thanked Arsenal upon his departure from the Emirates Stadium this summer as the winger returned to parent club Chelsea following a loan spell.

Sterling was signed on deadline day back in August 2024 as the club scrambled to add depth to their attacking options after Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira were allowed to leave the Gunners.

It was a decision that ultimately backfired as Sterling endured a torrid season in North London and struggled to make any sort of impact during his limited appearances.

With the importance of this summer’s window growing day by day, Berta cannot allow the club’s search for a winger to drag on through to the final few hours.

Arsenal’s main target Nico Williams is set to join Barcelona and the club must now decide on their plan ‘B’ quickly and act upon it.

What Edu Gaspar said about Arsenal’s last summer transfer window

Former sporting director Edu Gaspar was happy with the Gunners transfer activity last summer as he reflected upon the club’s work as per Arsenal’s official website.

Gaspar stated: “In the end, I think we as a club have to be proud once again. The way we are working together, the way we did all the deals.”

Edu left Arsenal back in November 2024 and looking back on his comments now, fans would be inclined to disagree with his opinion on the club’s business last summer.

The lack of quality in attack ultimately cost Arsenal’s chances of winning their first Premier League title since 2004 – that simply cannot happen this time around.
