Real Madrid have just taught Arsenal the perfect way to handle the Ethan Nwaneri situation

Arsenal have a decision to make about Ethan Nwaneri this summer.

The teenager is one of the biggest talents to come out of the Gunners academy in years, and he has shown flashes of his brilliance in the senior side already.

However, Nwaneri has had a very difficult last 12 months. He barely played in the first half of the season, and his loan spell at Marseille didn’t change his game time much.

That could lead to a sale in this window, and Arsenal should take inspiration from what Real Madrid have just done.

If you could set Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly’s price tags, how much would you demand?

Arsenal should take a leaf out of Real Madrid’s book when they make Ethan Nwaneri decision

Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world.

The Galacticos are often mentioned while talking about big signings, but they deserve a lot of praise for how they handle outgoings as well.

Nico Paz is the latest example of that.

Real Madrid sold him to Como in 2024 and inserted a buy-back clause in his deal worth just €9 million.

After two successful seasons under Cesc Fabregas, Los Blancos re-signed him for that figure and have now sold him back to Como for a whopping €60 million.

Furthermore, a new buy-back clause has been inserted in the deal for €80 million – just €20 million more than what they have just received.

That is exactly how business should be done, and Arsenal should try to repeat this if they decide to sell Ethan Nwaneri this summer.

There is little doubt that the teenager has the potential to become an absolute superstar. If Arsenal have control over his future, they could do exactly what Real Madrid have now done.

A buy-back clause in any deal to sell Ethan Nwaneri must be non-negotiable

Arsenal cannot just cash in on Nwaneri and forget about it.

The teenager has all the qualities to become an elite player in the coming years, and the ideal scenario would be for that to happen at the Emirates Stadium.

However, if a sale is to happen, Arsenal must demand a buy-back clause to be inserted into the deal to have some control over the youngster’s future.

Yes, some clubs will not accept those terms, but the Gunners hold all the cards in this situation, and Andrea Berta must use them to get a deal that suits his side.
