Rival fans cannot stop talking about Arsenal and their manager, Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard has been doing a remarkable job at the Emirates Stadium, and many in the game believe that he is on the verge of winning big trophies.

Arsenal are the favourites to lift the Premier League and the Champions League this season, and that’s all down to Arteta and his incredible management.

However, some rival supporters still use every opportunity to mock Arteta, and they have done it again after some news emerged about Pep Guardiola and Enzo Maresca.

Rival fans question why Mikel Arteta isn’t being considered to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City

Guardiola is in his tenth year as the manager of Manchester City.

The Spaniard has done a tremendous job in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, and he will go down as one of the greats.

However, there is a sense at Manchester City that Guardiola could leave the club at the end of this season, and Chelsea boss Maresca is being viewed as his potential successor (The Athletic).

That has nothing to do with Mikel Arteta, but rival fans have taken this opportunity to aim a dig at the Arsenal manager.

“But why aren’t Man City and Pep Guardiola after Mikel Arteta?” questioned one Chelsea fan.

The same question has been sarcastically echoed by supporters of other rival clubs, with some even using the report to suggest that Maresca is better than Arteta.

That, however, is not true whatsoever.

Pep Guardiola may have already explained why Mikel Arteta won’t succeed him at Manchester City

Any unbiased football fan will tell you that Arteta is the second-best manager in the Premier League behind Guardiola.

The Arsenal boss may not have won the league yet, but the way he has transformed the Gunners has been nothing short of incredible.

If Arteta was available, we are convinced that City would pounce, but the 43-year-old is still at Arsenal, a club he loves very dearly – just ask Guardiola.

Do you think Mikel Arteta can match Arsene Wenger’s legacy at Arsenal? 🤔

Back in 2023, the City boss said about his former assistant: “I know he went to his club, the team he dreams of. He’s a supporter, for the fact he played there, he was a captain there. He loves the club.

“I remember when we were together here, when we scored a lot of goals against our opponents, always he jumped a lot and celebrated, except against one team.

“One team, every time we score a goal, I jump, come back, and he was sitting there. It was Arsenal. It was that moment I said: ‘That guy likes Arsenal.'”

City must know that Arteta loves Arsenal so much that he would never leave the Gunners for them. That is why they aren’t even trying to get him.
