Arsenal will be using a new front line against Leicester City following the injuries to Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz.

Leandro Trossard is expected to start in the central striker role with Ethan Nwaneri on the right and Raheem Sterling on the left in the Arsenal predicted XI against Leicester City.

Mikel Arteta will be urging his players to take responsibility for scoring goals all over the pitch, captain Martin Odegaard especially needs to step up and score more goals.

Arsenal will have to adapt the way they play no matter who Arteta chooses up front but out of his remaining forward options, Trossard may not be the best option according to some key attacking metrics.

Ethan Nwaneri is a better option at central striker than Leandro Trossard according to statistics

Arteta has refused to rule out signing a free agent after their striker woes however, in the mean time the Spanish boss is going to have to find a formula that works up top

Trossard is expected to play in the central position against Leicester and may play in a deeper ‘false nine’ role but key attacking stats suggest that it may be better to start Nwaneri in that role.

Nwaneri had scored just one goal less than Trossard this season despite making a considerable amount of fewer appearances and outperforms the Belgian in terms of shots on target and total shots.

Sterling is yet to test a goalkeeper in the Premier League this season, therefore if a chance is to fall in the middle of the box, statistics suggest the 17-year-old Nwaneri is the best to be on the end of it.

Arteta has suggested Nwaneri could be a striker in the past

As per The Standard, Arteta has suggested already this season that Nwaneri could fill a number of positions – one of those being a centre forward.

Arteta stated: “Ethan can play as a right attacking midfielder, a left attacking midfielder, he can play as a right winger and there is another position I think he can develop into – No9.

“He has got the goal in front of him and he looks at the goal and he has a tremendous ability to put the ball in the back of the net.”

Nwaneri has scored seven goals in 23 appearances in his outstanding break-out season at the Emirates Stadium, if he can at least reach double figures before the end of the campaign it will be something for fans to take away from the season at least.
