Arsenal are still searching for their first league title under Mikel Arteta and their first league title since 2004.

With the 25/26 season of the Premier League coming up, Arsenal will have some key players who play a vital role in their upcoming campaign.

Mikel Arteta has spent upwards of £600 million during his time with the Gunners, and it almost feels like a make-or-break season for the Arsenal manager.

While it is the summer transfer window, Arsenal will be looking to bring in some fresh faces but also make sure to support their current squad.

3 – Martin Odegaard

Since signing for Arsenal back in 2021, Martin Odegaard has proved himself to be a valuable asset to Arteta’s side.

The Norwegian international has played 152 Premier League games, registering 34 goals and 32 assists during that time.

He is key to Arteta’s style of play, with his linkup play with Bukayo Saka playing a big part in Arsenal’s success.

Odegaard had spells out due to injury in the past, and there is a big difference in how Arsenal perform when he is in the squad and when he isn’t.

While Arsenal have good depth in the midfield, no one comes close to Odegaard when it comes to creativity, and that is why the Norwegian being fit and healthy is going to be key for Arsenal this season.

2 – William Saliba

Since coming back to Arsenal after a successful loan spell at French side Marseille, William Saliba has been one of the best centre-backs in the world.

Saliba’s partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes has been a huge factor in Arsenal having one of the best defensive records in the Premier League last season.

Looking back at the 22/23 season when Saliba missed 16 games because of a back injury, this highlighted just how important he is to the team.

Rob Holding was having to play instead, and without their star man in the starting lineup, Arsenal dropped many points, which cost them the possibility of winning the league title that season.

Arsenal’s record when Saliba is injured is much worse compared to when he is playing consistently.

1 – Bukayo Saka

It should come as no surprise that Arsenal’s ‘Star Boy’, 23-year-old Bukayo Saka, is their most important player coming into the season.

Arsenal’s starting right winger has been a beacon of light for the London side since becoming a regular starter.

Having played a staggering 195 league games and registering 53 goals and 51 assists at just 23 years old, just shows how good Saka has been.

With Saka’s experience comes a maturity that a lot of players his age don’t have, and if you combine that with his incredible football ability, you have one of the players in the world today.

Saka has promised Arsenal fans that their time will come and that the squad understand what has to be done differently coming into the 25/26 season.
