Arsenal endured a frustrating 2024/25 season, and Mikel Arteta and his squad are already looking ahead to improving upon it next campaign.
The Gunners missed out on the Premier League title to Liverpool by ten points, with the Merseysiders running away with it after Christmas.
Arsenal have now finished second three seasons in a row, and Arteta will no doubt use the perennial runners-up narrative to fire his players up ahead of next year.
Knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain at the semi-final stage, and dumped out of the domestic cups by Manchester United and Newcastle, the North Londoners ended the season without a trophy for the fifth year in a row.
Arteta has received criticism for his team’s inability to secure silverware, but the Spaniard knows how close his team is to achieving their goals.

Bukayo Saka sends defiant message to Arsenal fans about next season
Bukayo Saka endured a frustrating season in his own right.
Starting the campaign on fire, the 23-year-old had scored nine goals and registered 13 assists by mid-December.
However, Saka then suffered a serious hamstring injury that kept him out for over three months, and by the time he returned to action, the Premier League was out of Arsenal’s grasp.
The Hale End graduate will be hoping for a more enjoyable campaign next year, and he’s sent an inspiring message to Gunners’ supporters via Instagram.
Writing on his social media page, Saka said: “We all know the mission. We’re working towards achieving things this club hasn’t seen in a while. And our time will come…”
Confident that he and Arteta can lead Arsenal back to winning major honours, the message is clear from Arsenal’s talisman.
With Liverpool’s squad ageing and Manchester City in need of a rebuild, the Gunners ought to be in the title race once again in 2025/26 and are arguably early favourites to win it.

Arsenal need to back Mikel Arteta in the transfer market to fulfil Bukayo Saka’s promise
While Arsenal’s squad is good enough as it is to compete for the title, the club’s hierarchy need to give Arteta the best possible chance of winning silverware next season.
This involves backing him in the transfer market over the summer by securing a number of top-quality players who can enhance the depth of his squad.
Viktor Gyokeres is being heavily linked with a move to N5, and adding the Swedish striker’s goal-scoring prowess would certainly be a good start.
Arsenal’s title charge essentially fell to pieces last season when a few attackers got injured, so supplying Arteta’s ensemble with an injection of offensive firepower is the priority.
Gyokeres alone won’t be enough; a left-sided winger also a necessary acquisition.
The likes of Nico Williams, Rodrygo and Rafael Leao have all been linked, while the Gunners could yet go bigger by making a last-minute move to hijack Florian Wirtz’ move to Liverpool.
