Arsenal face Tottenham in the North London Derby very soon, and a lot is going to change.

Tottenham have sacked Thomas Frank, ending the Dane’s horrendous run as manager.

Frank’s exit was inevitable after Spurs lost to Newcastle United, putting them within five points of the relegation zone.

For Arsenal, the new-manager bounce phenomenon will be on fans’ minds ahead of the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but history tells us that there’s nothing to worry about.

If you, as an Arsenal fan, could pick the next Tottenham manager, who would you choose?

Tottenham sacking Thomas Frank isn’t actually bad news for Arsenal ahead of the North London Derby

The idea of Spurs having Frank at the helm for the North London Derby would’ve been unthinkable for the Lilywhites.

It’s not only because of the manager’s woeful record at the club, but also because of claims that Frank is an Arsenal fan.

Imagine hearing cries of “Thomas Frank is a silver member” in N17; it couldn’t happen, and it won’t, but it’s not bad news for the Gunners.

Whoever Spurs replace Frank with will have his Premier League debut in a North London Derby, which has happened before.

21 years ago, Martin Jol made his competitive debut as Spurs boss against Arsenal at White Hart Lane, and he lost.

It was a record-breaking North London Derby, going down as the highest-scoring one ever, as Arsenal took three points from their rivals, winning 5-4.

Aside from conceding four goals, history repeating itself would be ever so sweet for the Gunners, who must take three points when they visit N17 on matchday 27.

Frank gave Arsenal some amazing memories

A new era is about to begin at Tottenham, and Arsenal will be eager to get it off to a bad start.

For the Gunners, it’s sad to see Frank go, as the former Spurs boss handed the Gunners more joy than the Lilywhites during his eight months in charge.

Let’s take a look at three of the funniest moments.

The first came in July, as Frank made a blunder when speaking about the Invincibles.

If there’s one thing about Spurs, it’s that they despise Arsenal, so praising his new rivals soon after arriving wasn’t the best move.

The next came in the North London Derby, as Frank asked who Eberechi Eze was, only to go on to watch his failed transfer target score a hat-trick in Arsenal’s 4-1 win.

When tensions were rising, the last thing Frank needed to do was make Spurs fans angry, but he did just that, carrying an Arsenal cup onto the pitch at Bournemouth before his team lost 3-2.

A hilarious tenure is over, which is a shame for Arsenal, who will be excited to see who’s next.
