Arsenal fans have always had a soft spot for new Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank.

The Dane has often said good things about the Gunners over the years, and he has been very complimentary about Mikel Arteta and the players as well.

That is why Arsenal fans were a bit sad to see Frank join Tottenham – many claimed that they will have to dislike him now because of the rivalry between the two North London clubs.

Now, Gooners will absolutely love what happened in Frank’s first Spurs press conference.

Thomas Frank was due a big job after the incredible work he did at Brentford.

The Dane would’ve loved to manage a huge club, but he now has to settle for Tottenham, who finished seven places and 18 points below his Bees side last season.

Nevertheless, Frank is excited about the opportunity, and he faced the media for the very first time after becoming the Spurs boss on Friday.

Everything was going to plan until he made a faux pas.

While speaking about the upcoming campaign, Frank claimed that Tottenham will definitely lose games because no team is capable of going the entire season unbeaten.

Then, he suddenly remembered Arsenal’s great Invincibles and mentioned them, but regret set in very quickly after he realised that he was now in the enemy’s camp.

“One thing is 100 per cent sure, we will lose football matches. I haven’t seen a team that is not losing any football matches,” Frank said before realising that Arsenal went through a season without losing a game.

“There is Arsenal,” he then said, but you could see the instant regret in his face. He continued: “That we can’t mention, in the Premier League. So, I’ve made my first rookie mistake there.”

Arsenal fans saw Frank’s little blunder in his press conference, and they absolutely loved it.

Many Gooners took to social media to let Spurs supporters know that their new boss is a big fan of their fiercest rivals.

One Arsenal fan said: “You guys thought we were kidding when we said Thomas Frank loves Arsenal. Sorry Spurs fans, your manager knows which club he’s at and which club he wishes he was at.”

Another tweeted: “Thomas Frank loves Arsenal. I’ve never seen a manager do this before.”
