Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes, and David Raya were the only three Arsenal players to make the Champions League Team of the Season.
Arsenal enjoyed a near-flawless Champions League campaign, failing to register a single defeat all season until the final against PSG.
🤔 Which Arsenal players are missing from the UCL Team of the Season?
The Gunners suffered the heartbreak of being beaten on penalties, despite having taken the lead after just six minutes through Kai Havertz.
The North London club will rightfully feel frustrated not to have had more players named in the Team of the Season for the competition.
Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes, and David Raya named in Champions League Team of the Season
The Arsenal trio of Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes, and David Raya all made the cut for Champions League Team of the Season.
Rice has been the best midfielder in Europe this season, and his inclusion in the team was one of the biggest guarantees.
Meanwhile, Gabriel has been the best defender in Europe, and his display in the Champions League final was worthy of his inclusion alone.
Gabriel did, however, suffer the disappointment of missing the fifth penalty for the Gunners, as the Brazilian defender blazed his spot kick over the bar.
Now that you’ve all had time to reflect, why did Arsenal lose the Champions League final?
But it should not subtract from what has been an outstanding season for the 28-year-old, and he is well worthy of making the team.
Finally, for Arsenal, Raya was once again a real brick wall throughout the course of the campaign and is rightfully named in the team.
William Saliba and Jurrien Timber miss out
However, the likes of William Saliba, Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka all missed out on a spot in the team.
Saliba and Timber played key roles in the competition’s best defence, whilst Martinelli impressed with six goals and two assists this season.
The Gunners’ defence would not be where it is today with Saliba, with the Frenchman being equally as important as his defensive partner.
Meanwhile, Timber’s performance against PSG in the final proved why he is just so good, having only just returned from a long injury.
There is a strong case for the duo being included ahead of both Marquinhos and Marcos Llorente.
