Viktor Gyokeres has now produced six goal involvements in his last six appearances for Arsenal, but has received no credit for his efforts.

Gyokeres added to his Arsenal goal tally against Leeds with a great strike as Mikel Arteta’s team went on to win 4-0 at Elland Road.

Arsenal looked set for a banana skin game against Leeds; however, goals from Martin Zubimendi, a Karl Darlow own goal, Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus made light work of the hosts.

In the case of Gyokeres, it was another promising afternoon for the Swede, who has now netted in back-to-back matches for the Gunners.

Viktor Gyokeres has six goal involvements in six matches for Arsenal

It’s time for Viktor Gyokeres to start getting some credit for his recent contributions at Arsenal following his fantastic run of form.

The Swede has now produced four goals and two assists in his last six appearances in all competitions for the Gunners.

Gyokeres was signed to add more firepower to their attack, and whilst his performances haven’t been transformative, he’s still doing what was asked of him: to help add goals.

His total goal tally for the season now stands at 11, which makes him the club’s leading scorer, ahead of Gabriel Martinelli.

Fill in the blank: Viktor Gyokeres is now worth £___m following his start to life at Arsenal…

The striker now has goals against Chelsea, Inter Milan, Kairat and Leeds, whilst also getting assists against the Kazakhstani team and in the EFL Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge.

Gyokeres’ strike against Inter Milan was undoubtedly his most impressive and was the type of finish that is why Andrea Berta wanted to bring him to North London.

There’s no hiding from the fact that for £63 million, Arsenal will have expected a little bit more, but his recent contributions deserve some acknowledgement after a tough run.

Arsenal have never lost a Premier League match when Gabriel Jesus scores

Meanwhile, it was also a strong afternoon for Jesus, who produced a brilliant turn and finish to seal the win for the Gunners.

The Brazilian’s goal and the 4-0 win mean that the Gunners still have not lost a Premier League game when he has scored.

But despite his goal, the 28-year-old now remains behind Gyokeres in the pecking order at Arsenal and rightfully so.
