Viktor Gyokeres must be so scared after hearing news coming out of Arsenal

Viktor Gyokeres’ form at Arsenal has become a big talking point.

The Gunners signed the striker from Sporting CP in the summer transfer window, and he was tasked with solving their goalscoring troubles up front.

Gyokeres has found the net six times in 19 games so far this season, which is not a great return for a centre-forward playing in a team chasing the Premier League and Champions League crowns.

That has led to a lot of criticism, and things could now get worse for Gyokeres because of Kai Havertz.

Viktor Gyokeres must be worried about losing his place as Kai Havertz nears injury return

News has emerged that Havertz is aiming to return from his injury in the upcoming Arsenal games.

The German has been out with a knee issue he picked up in the opening game of the season against Manchester United. He even suffered a setback during his recovery.

Now, Havertz is close to a comeback, and he is expected to be available for one of the fixtures before Christmas.

That is great news for Arsenal, but Viktor Gyokeres must be fearing for his place in the Gunners’ starting line-up going forward.

That’s because Mikel Arteta views Havertz as his first-choice striker ahead of the Swede. That was the case in the summer, and the stance hasn’t changed now either.

With goals drying up and Gyokeres not offering much else either, the Arsenal manager could give Havertz a go up top as soon as he is fully fit.

If the former Chelsea man performs as well as he did in the second half of his debut season, there will be no way back for Gyokeres.

Can Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz play together at Arsenal?

Arsenal usually only play with one striker.

Even when Arteta had the option of starting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette together, he chose to use the latter on the left wing.

However, the Daily Mail recently revealed that Arteta’s plan in pre-season was to use Havertz and Gyokeres together up top.

It has been reported that the Arsenal manager feels the two players can combine well in the same line-up, which is very interesting.

That could be a blessing in disguise for Gyokeres as he will almost definitely be out of the starting line-up if Havertz returns and starts firing on his own up front.
