Arsenal fans are waiting in anticipation for the debut of new signing Viktor Gyokeres.
The Gunners have arrived in Hong Kong for the final game of their Asia tour and face North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
With wins over AC Milan and Newcastle, Mikel Arteta will be hoping to see another improved display from his squad as the season opener at Old Trafford draws ever closer.
Arsenal confirmed the signing of Gyokeres and he has since taken part in his first training session with the club. His rival for the centre forward position Kai Havertz was seen meeting the Swede for the first time.

Kai Havertz welcomed Viktor Gyokeres despite being competition for his place
Ben White has praised Gyokeres following his move from Sporting Lisbon, the Swede has also been spoken of highly by new teammate William Saliba.
Upon meeting Havertz for the first time, both players may have been forgiven for being a little uneasy given they are direct rivals for a place in the side next season.
However, the German straight away made Gyokeres feel at home by saying: “You good? Welcome bro,” before telling the new signing: “It’s good to see you.”
Arteta thinks Havertz is ‘special’ and the German’s reaction to new competition for his place speaks volumes about his impeccable attitude.
There are some who believe both players could be used together up top for the Gunners this season and they have shown they already have a great working relationship.
What do Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres bring to Arsenal?
Whilst Gyokeres arrives in North London with a reputation as one of Europe’s deadliest finishers, Havertz himself was on course for his best season at the club before injury struck in February.
Arteta will know each player’s strengths and it may be a case of choosing his striker depending on the game plan and opposition next season.
| Key statistics from last season | Havertz | Gyokeres |
| Progressive passes | 2.93 | 2.18 |
| Shots on target | 39.6% | 52% |
| Pass completion | 78.4% | 71.4% |
| Aerial duels won | 44.7% | 50.7% |
Havertz dropped deeper against AC Milan to show that he has the versatility to play in the number ten role and of course he has featured as a number eight under Arteta during his Gunners career.
However Arteta chooses to set up on the opening day against Manchester United, he can be sure that now he has the depth in his squad to make changes throughout the game if needed. A luxury he rarely had in the second half of last season.
