What Man City did to Man United that proves Arsenal can’t relax about the title just yet

With just seven Premier League games to go, Arsenal hold a nine point advantage over Man City and many believe the title race is done.

Arsenal’s late win over Everton, coupled with City’s inability to beat West Ham, means the Gunners need just four wins and a draw to mathematically seal the title.

Still, with football the game we all know it is, Mikel Arteta will be keen for his side to keep going and when we look back at what City have done in the past, it’s always worth keeping up good form.

Who was Arsenal’s Man of the Match against Everton?

HUGE WIN.

Man City once came back from eight points back to win the title

There are a few occasions over the years where Man City have come back from big points deficits with not many games left to win it.

They famously clawed Liverpool back in 2014 after falling nine points behind but the caveat there is that City had three games in hand with eight to play.

The biggest indicator for Arsenal not resting on their laurels comes when you look at City’s first PL title under Roberto Mancini.

At one point, City were a whopping eight points behind Man United with just six games to go but somehow clawed their way back into it. What followed was the most famous title winning goal in history as Sergio Aguero netted with seconds to spare to win it for the blue half of Manchester.

Of course, City have gone on to be the dominant force in English football ever since that day.

Pep Guardiola has taken them and English football to another level but while this season isn’t quite finished, Arsenal will do well to not rest on their laurels.

City do have a game in hand and should Arsenal slip up and City win that game in hand and then also beat the Gunners, things start looking a bit unhealthier.

Still, this is Arsenal’s title to lose now and if they do mess it up, then there’ll be no coming back.
