Juventus and world football’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo once tipped his compatriot Andre Silva, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, to succeed him in the Portugal national team.
Football transfer expert Duncan Castles revealed recently that the Gunners are keen to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt star. He claimed that Edu has already informed the striker that he wants to bring him in, but a move will only occur after Arsenal sell Alexandre Lacazette.
Castles said on The Transfer Window podcast: “Arsenal have expressed their interest (in Andre Silva) and have done a lot of proprietary work on this deal.

“They have told Andre Silva that they need to sell before they can bring him in, but they want to do that deal, and the player they have targeted to sell is Alexandre Lacazette. Frankfurt are asking for €40 million (£34.4m) for the player.”
Arsenal will definitely need a new number nine if one of Lacazette or Nketiah is sold this summer. We have been linked with a whole host of names already, but Silva is a very interesting option.
The 29-year-old had an absolutely amazing campaign in Germany last term. He scored 29 goals and provided 10 assists in just 34 appearances in all competitions, and it is no surprise that multiple clubs are interested in his services.
Arsenal fans aren’t usually convinced with players we’ve been linked with. Gooners would like every bit of evidence there is to be certain that a reported target is a good player. Luckily for us, Ronaldo can vouch for Silva.

Ronaldo: Arsenal-linked Andre Silva is a great striker
CR7 said in 2017, as per Bundesliga.com: “When I retire, Portugal will be in good hands because they’ve already found a great striker: Andre Silva. He’s doing a phenomenal job, and not just thanks to his goals.”
Well, if that doesn’t convince us, nothing else will.
Silva has had his ups and downs over the years, but he has been simply sensational for Frankfurt. He has 45 goals and 15 assists to his name in just 62 starts, which is truly is a phenomenal return for a striker.

Arsenal’s interest in Silva is completely justified and he will likely be a stunning signing for us. However, we will have to sell Lacazette or Nketiah or both, and that won’t be easy in the coming weeks.
