Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale was on Peter Crouch’s podcast this week and the goalkeeper made an interesting claim about Cedric Soares.
Ramsdale has been absolutely incredible for us this season. He is one of the biggest reasons why we’re in the driving seat to finish in the top-four now, and what’s more impressive than his skills on the pitch is his character off it.
The Englishman has settled in really well at the club and doesn’t miss a chance to make fun of his teammates. From mocking Rob Holding’s hairline to Thomas Partey’s shooting, he’s had a lot to say about many of our stars since he joined us. Now, it’s Martin Odegaard and Cedric’s turn.
Aaron Ramsdale: Cedric Soares thinks he’s the future Pep Guardiola
Speaking about Odegaard and how differently Arteta treats him compared to the rest, Ramsdale said: “Martin Odegaard is parched.
“I don’t know what they are saying because they speak Spanish. The day after a game he [Arteta] will speak to most people in English. Maybe one of the two of the lads whose English isn’t perfect [he’ll speak to in foreign languages].
“But, Martin’s English is perfect and he’s speaking Spanish! How parched.
“And, I’ll tell you who is another parched! Cedric Soares, he thinks he’s a future Pep. Brilliant.”
Ramsdale is the signing of the season
As we near the end of the season, several made-up awards will cause endless arguments on the internet, and the ‘signing of the season’ debate is one of them.
Every single one of Arsenal’s summer signings – Ramsdale, Ben White, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Takehiro Tomiyasu – have been really good for us, but if we had to pick one, it has to be the goalkeeper.
Nobody expected Ramsdale to come in and do what he has done. Almost every Arsenal fan wasn’t happy with the signing when it was announced, but now, the Englishman is many people’s favourite player.
The summer transfer window is just around the corner and every transfer rumour will bring out a million opinions on social media. Instead of all the negativity, maybe, just maybe, we should have some faith in Arteta and Edu this time.
