Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has sent a message to fans after he was voted as our Player of the Month for April.

The Swiss international has had a rocky relationship with Gooners over the years. There was a point when it really did look like there would never be a bond between the player and the fans, but thankfully, that has changed.

Arsenal supporters are fully behind Xhaka now and the 29-year-old is playing some of his best football. He was definitely our player of the month in April.

Granit Xhaka sends a message to Arsenal fans

After lifting the Player of the Month award, Arsenal released a video of Xhaka thanking Gooners for voting for him.

The Swiss international has had an amazing month and he topped it off with an incredible goal against Manchester United last weekend to help us pick up a huge win.

In the video, Xhaka tells Arsenal fans: “Hey, Granit Xhaka here. I hope you guys are well. I want to say thank you very much for voting me (as) player of the month.

“It’s very special for me. I want to say thank you, as well, for the support, of course, at home, but away as well. We will try to achieve our goals for this season.”

Fantastic turnaround

Not one Arsenal fan would’ve even imagined Granit Xhaka being the player and man he is today after his outburst against Crystal Palace at the Emirates back in 2019.

Mikel Arteta deserves credit for sticking by him and helping him recover, but nobody deserves more praise than the Swiss international himself for being the incredible player he is today.

Xhaka was fantastic for us in April and his confidence now is probably higher than ever before. There are just five games left in the campaign, and if he can maintain his form, we should be able to secure a top-four finish for the first time since he joined Arsenal.

Arsenal take on West Ham United tomorrow and Xhaka will once again be one of our most important players.
