Luke Shaw has revealed what England players said to Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal youngster missed his penalty in the shootout last night.
Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho both missed their penalties and Saka simply had to score to keep England in the game. Sadly, the youngster’s strike was saved brilliantly by Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Saka, like most of us, was absolutely devastated. England stars did everything they possibly could to console him, but he just couldn’t hold his tears back, and that was heartbreaking to watch.

What England stars told Bukayo Saka after his penalty miss
Shaw was asked about Saka after the game and he claimed that the Arsenal man was devastated. He revealed that all the England players gave the youngster a ‘big hug’ and told him that they were all behind him, which really is amazing.
The Manchester United full-back said about Saka, as per The Metro: “He’s devastated. We gave him a big hug, we told him to keep his head up, it happens. It’s a penalty shootout, anything can happen as a lot of people know.
“It’s an experience he’ll learn from but we’re all behind him, he knows that. Not just him, Rashy and Sanch, we’re with them all. We win as a team and lose as a team. There’s no individuals who cost that.”

The Insider’s View:
Saka has received nothing but love from his international and club teammates over the last 12 hours. Everyone at Arsenal and in the England camp is extremely proud of him, and he should keep his head up.
What Saka has achieved already at just 19 years of age is truly remarkable. He was a real star for us last season and he has been the same for England throughout the competition. One bad moment in the final changes nothing.

Saka has a massive future ahead of him and it’s great to see all of his teammates behind him despite what happened yesterday. He will come back stronger than ever after this setback, and we cannot wait to see him back in Arsenal’s colours in the coming weeks.
