Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has had his say on rumours linking Juventus star Wojciech Szczesny with a return to Arsenal this summer.
Gazzetta revealed recently that the Italian giants are open to selling the Pole if the right offer arrives. Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to join Juve, and the Italian is expected to become the new number one there.

That leaves Szczesny in a difficult position and the report opened the door for the 31-year-old to return to Arsenal.
The Gunners are on the market for a new goalkeeper after Maty Ryan returned to Brighton. Szczesny’s previous relationship with the club and with Arteta knowing him really well thanks to their time together as teammates, a return to the Emirates made sense.
However, Szczesny, labelled as ‘exceptional’ by Arsene Wenger, will demand the number one role and that will be impossible at Arsenal unless Bernd Leno leaves.
Fabrizio Romano: Wojciech Szczesny to Arsenal is impossible
This move looked unlikely from the start, and Romano has now confirmed it. He believes that Szczesny to Arsenal is impossible this summer and has claimed that the Gunners already have a different goalkeeper in mind.
Onana hasn’t played for a while due to his doping ban. The verdict of his appeal is expected this week, and if his suspension is overturned, he would be an outstanding addition to Arsenal.
Leno is still Arsenal’s number one but he lacks the top-level competition he needs. That arguably resulted in some complacency last term which translated into a few really bad errors on the pitch.
Arsenal simply cannot afford that next season and Onana could solve all the problems. He is a top-quality shot-stopper, is excellent with the ball at his feet and considering that he is still only 25, he is a much better option than Szczesny this summer.
