Arsenal are in desperate need of a new midfielder and reports have led us to believe that Juventus star Arthur Melo is the one we’re trying to sign.

The Brazilian, formerly of Barcelona, is out of favour under Max Allegri in Turin. The Juventus boss has played down rumours of an exit, but reports claim that the Italians will let him go once they find a replacement.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Arthur only wants a move to Arsenal, even though Tottenham have been linked with him. That is good news for us and Kevin Campbell has delivered his verdict on the midfielder.

Kevin Campbell: Arsenal-linked Arthur Melo is a baller

The Englishman appeared on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel this week and was quizzed about Arsenal’s reported interest in the Juventus midfielder.

He said about Arthur: “I watched him at Barcelona.

“I am telling you, he’s a baller. The guy is a baller.”

The Insider’s View:

Arthur really is a baller but the big question is where Mikel Arteta will play him if he joins us in the coming days.

The Brazilian has usually played in a flat midfield three at Juventus and is often the deepest-lying player. That’s a waste of his abilities and is one of the biggest reasons why things haven’t worked out for him in Turin.

If he joins us, Arthur should be used as a progressive number eight. His ability to carry the ball forward is one of his biggest strengths and he could have a massive impact on our side if he’s played next to Thomas Partey in the middle of the park.

It will be interesting to see if Edu can get this deal over the line before the Liverpool game. If he does, our chances of beating the Reds will go up considerably.
