Arsenal have been home to a number of incredible players over the years.

The Gunners are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and many young players across the globe dream of donning the famous red and white.

That is due to the history created by the legends who have represented the club in the past.

The likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira are the ones who everyone remembers, but a more recent player was once compared to Cristiano Ronaldo by a World Cup winner.

Fabio Cannavaro compared Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Cristiano Ronaldo when he was at Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was unbelievable in his first few years at Arsenal.

The Gabon international was signed by Arsene Wenger from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, and he hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium.

Aubameyang went on to play 163 games for Arsenal, score 92 goals and provide 21 assists. He also helped the club win the FA Cup and the Community Shield as captain.

In November 2021, legendary Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro, who played against some of the greats of his generation, compared the then-Arsenal striker to Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, he boldly claimed that he would’ve easily dealt with Aubameyang, as well as Tottenham’s superstars at the time, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Cannavaro told The Sun: “Son and Kane are very, very strong. The Korean is the one who impressed me the most. Aubameyang is also a terrific player, like Ronaldo.

“But I wouldn’t have feared them. Against prime Cannavaro, it would have been tough for anyone.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang must have regrets about his Arsenal career

Aubameyang was one of the best players in Europe during his prime at Arsenal.

The striker was the Gunners’ best player for about three years, but everything changed after he fell out with Mikel Arteta due to disciplinary issues.

If that hadn’t happened, Aubameyang could’ve gone on to become a legend at the club, especially if he had rediscovered his form.

There must be some regrets that things did not work the way they should have, but Aubameyang still has a lot of love for Arsenal – much more than the other London club he played for, Chelsea.
