Kai Havertz has definitely improved since joining Arsenal.
The Germany international was one of the best players in the Bundesliga during his time there, and every big club in the world had their eyes on him.
Chelsea won the race for Havertz’s signature in 2020, but the attacker’s three years at Stamford Bridge before he moved to Arsenal were mostly disappointing.
However, Gary Neville spotted something about Havertz in 2021, and Mikel Arteta probably felt the same before he decided to sign him for Arsenal.
Gary Neville made a prediction about Arsenal star Kai Havertz in 2021
Kai Havertz didn’t fulfil his potential at Chelsea.
The German made a name for himself as a phenomenal attacking midfielder at Bayer Leverkusen, but he just didn’t look the same as a Blue.
Despite his struggles, Havertz’s name will forever be in the history books at Chelsea because he scored the winner against Manchester City in the final of the Champions League.
Three months after that, Neville praised Havertz and predicted that he would become even better once he gets bigger.
He said on Sky Sports: “I actually think Havertz has gone up a level, but I also think that he is in third gear. I think he will go up to fourth gear, and I think he will actually go to fifth gear.
“And I think he could become an absolutely great player.
“When he really fills out into his body, and he will do, and he’ll get stronger and more powerful – he is already a great runner with the ball – I think when he gets more confidence, more belief, in two years’ time, I think we could be seeing someone who is absolutely there.
“Remember what Chelsea did with Eden Hazard. He went from here, to here, to here. I think that’s what Havertz will do.”
Gary Neville’s prediction about Kai Havertz could finally come true at Arsenal
Havertz has been a much better player at Arsenal than he was at Chelsea.
The 26-year-old has directly contributed to 42 goals in 87 games as a Gunner, while he only managed 48 in 139 appearances when he was a Blue.
Now, the German could go to another level and make Neville’s prediction come true.
As many Arsenal fans noticed, Havertz has bulked up massively over the last few months and looks stronger than ever before.
In the game against Tottenham, Havertz sent Micky van de Ven flying after a 50-50 clash, which showed just how strong he has become.
With the burden of scoring goals eased thanks to the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres, we think the former Chelsea man will have the best season of his career in 2025/26.
