Arsenal star Viktor Gyokeres has been the talk of the town recently.
The Sweden international joined the Gunners in the summer and was expected to be the final piece of the puzzle at the Emirates Stadium.
However, after just six goals in 19 appearances, questions are being asked of Gyokeres. Some feel he will never end up being the prolific goalscorer that Arsenal want him to be.
Only time will tell whether Gyokeres will be a success at Arsenal, but one striker who the Gunners were linked with in the summer has become a huge hit in England – Hugo Ekitike.
If you could swap Viktor Gyokeres for Benjamin Sesko right now, would you? If so, why?
Arsenal were interested in Hugo Ekitike before signing Viktor Gyokeres
Ekitike was a wanted man in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United pushed to sign the French striker to replace Alexander Isak, but it was Liverpool who won the race for him.
Before that, Arsenal were really interested in signing Ekitike, with reports claiming that he was Andrea Berta’s third option after Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.
The Gunners went ahead and signed the Swede in the end, but in hindsight, the decision-makers at the Emirates are perhaps regretting their decision.

That’s because Ekitike has been on fire for Liverpool this season. He has scored 10 goals in 15 starts for the Reds, four of which have come in his last two games.
The former PSG forward has adapted to the Premier League very quickly, and the fact that he is still only 23 means he will only get better in the coming years.
Gyokeres, on the other hand, is 27 already, which is usually the prime age for a striker. He needs to improve in the coming games.

If you could go back in time and sign another striker for Arsenal instead of Viktor Gyokeres, who would it be and why?
Time is running out for Viktor Gyokeres at Arsenal
Gyokeres has done well in terms of his work rate at Arsenal, but at the end of the day, a striker is judged by the goals he scores.
A tally of six goals is just not enough for a forward playing in a team chasing the Premier League and Champions League titles. That number needs to be a lot higher.
Gyokeres has to improve now. If he doesn’t, he will lose his place in the side because Kai Havertz is on the verge of returning from his injury.
Arteta loves the German, and we expect him to choose Havertz as Arsenal’s first-choice striker if Gyokeres’ struggles continue.
That would be a bit humiliating for the former Sporting CP man.
