Following yesterday’s draw, Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson has now had his say on a potential return to Feyenoord in the near future.

Nelson played a starring role for Arsenal in Holland yesterday, providing an assist for Eddie Nketiah in the 1-1 draw.

And following the game against PSV Eindhoven, Nelson spoke to Dutch outlet NTL news.

The interviewer then asked Nelson if he would consider leaving Arsenal for Feyenoord if manager Arne Slot gave him a call.

Nelson replied: “I have a good relationship with the manager, we have helped each other. But I am happy at Arsenal.

“I signed a new contract last year and my heart is with the club.”

Of course, Nelson really will be hoping to propel his fortunes at Arsenal after such a strong display.

The £100k-a-week winger is unfortunately stuck behind Bukayo Saka on the right wing, a daunting prospect for any player.

And all the time Saka is healthy and ready, he’s going to be an automatic starter.

Moreover, displacing Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing isn’t exactly going to be a doddle, either.

It’s a tough one for Nelson, who is then also competing with the impressive Leandro Trossard for a spot.

But as a Hale End graduate, he’s always a player that the fans will back and love.

However, putting emotion aside, it may actually be a smart career move if Nelson did choose to leave Arsenal for a side like Feyenoord.

At 24-years-old, Nelson clearly has so much to offer, and he shouldn’t spend some of his best years sitting on the bench.

Perhaps it’s a surprise that Nelson hasn’t had more suitors in the Premier League given his talent.

Furthermore, if the England youth international were to leave the Emirates then it could also pave the way for a player to come in.

Pedro Neto is a player who is often linked with the club, someone who must be considered an upgrade on Nelson.

So whilst Nelson is happy and contributing to this Arsenal project right now, a move may be one to consider for the summer.
