Kylian Mbappe has reportedly explored a potential switch to Arsenal, with the PSG superstar set to leave the Ligue 1 giants in the summer.

The France international’s future remains as up in the air as it always has been, with recent reports suggesting that Mbappe is likely to join Real Madrid when his deal with PSG comes to an end.

A move to the Premier League has always been suggested for Mbappe, though, with Arsenal a club who have occasionally been linked with a move for the 25-year-old striker, who joined PSG for £166m in 2017.

And according to the Independent, the north London side have been explored as an option for Mbappe, as well as Liverpool, who many would say is the English side with the best chance of landing the Frenchman.

However, as per the report, the odds of Arsenal actually signing Mbappe are essentially zero, with the PSG star’s salary something that could shatter the Gunners’ current wage structure.

Indeed, although Arsenal are in the market for a world-class striker, Mbappe might just be one of the few players on the planet that the Gunners simply can’t afford, even if the forward is ideal for Mikel Arteta.

Mbappe is easily one of the best players in football and a dream signing for any club if budgets were unlimited and FFP restrictions didn’t actually matter right now.

And Arsenal are no exception, with the Gunners heading into the summer market with a world-class striker at the top of their shopping list as Mbappe approaches free-agency.

However, whilst Mbappe is the dream signing for the Gunners, reality makes this deal almost impossible given how much the French international will be demanding in weekly wages.

Seeing the French international in north London would be a fantasy for many supporters, and for now, that’s all it will realistically be barring a financial miracle from Arsenal’s end.
