Arsenal are in talks to sanction another sale after Jakub Kiwior’s well-documented plan to sign for FC Porto.

Though the Gunners have been focused on sales for some time, the plan instead turned into something different.

After turning attention from signing to selling, Arsenal captured Eberechi Eze’s signature and are now understood to be eyeing Piero Hincapie

Hincapie would come in as a replacement for outbound Kiwior, and it’s now become clear that another player could follow the Pole closely out the door.

Crystal Palace in talks to sign Reiss Nelson

Arsenal have five players listed for transfer, one of whom is academy graduate Reiss Nelson

Though Nelson is an incredibly talented winger, it’s never quite worked out for the 25-year-old in terms of actually breaking into the first team.

Fulham had Nelson on their radar earlier in the summer, but it’s a different Premier League club who could swoop for the Englishman.

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace are ‘in talks’ to sign Nelson from Arsenal in a deal worth £15m.

The report acknowledges that Fulham were ‘unable to agree a deal’ for the forward, with the Eagles now taking a look at Arsenal’s academy product.

Nelson’s representatives are actively ‘speaking’ to Palace, whom Arsenal have dealt with multiple times in recent years.

Given that Arsenal and Palace have a respected relationship, it’s hoped that a deal could finally get over the line to set Nelson free.

Selling Nelson was crucial to Arsenal

It’s never nice to see an academy product depart without fulfilling their potential, but Nelson’s sale is crucial before the window closes.

Not only does the player need consistent minutes and a place to flourish, but Arsenal also need to balance the books and bolster their finances.

Firstly, being an academy graduate, Nelson’s departure will represent pure profit for the Gunners, which could be £15m.

Secondly, after Nelson signed a new contract at Arsenal in 2023, the Englishman was given a refreshed salary, equating to an eye-watering £100k-a-week, as per Capology

With a market value that fluctuates due to injury and lack of playing time, as well as being a high earner, Arsenal need to get Nelson off their books promptly, something Palace could offer.
