Like many clubs, Arsenal have made a few painful mistakes at youth level over the years.

Nobody can say for certain that a young player in his early teens will become a superstar, but many are still given a chance.

However, there are times when clubs like Arsenal get it wrong and release youngsters before they show signs of becoming elite players.

Harry Kane was one player Arsenal released when he was a kid, and he joined Tottenham. Now, there’s another former Gunner who could end up on the other side of North London.

Former Arsenal youth player Eberechi Eze wants to join Tottenham

Eberechi Eze was scouted by Arsenal when he was in secondary school.

The Gunners signed him for their youth side at the time, but things did not work out for the young Englishman. He was released when he was 13.

Eze revealed that he cried for a ‘solid week’ after Arsenal pushed him out, but he has since come a long way in his career.

Now one of the best players in the country, Eze could be on the move from Crystal Palace this summer, and Tottenham could be his destination.

Spurs are keen to sign the England international, and The Sun have revealed that Eze is interested in joining Tottenham as well, despite his past Arsenal allegiance.

The versatile Englishman has a release clause worth £60 million plus an additional £8 million in potential future add-ons.

If Spurs do get him, we feel Eze will become a fantastic player for them. That would be really painful for everyone associated with Arsenal.

What Arsenal think about re-signing Eberechi Eze

Eze has been linked with a move to Arsenal on multiple occasions over the last two years.

The Palace star, hailed as ‘amazing‘ by Oliver Glasner, has been on the radar of multiple top clubs, and it does feel like this is the summer in which he will get his big move.

Tottenham seem like the likely destination if he leaves the Eagles, but reports just over a month ago claimed that Arsenal have refused to rule out re-signing Eze.

If the Gunners do go down that route, they will not just be signing a terrific player but will also crush Tottenham fans’ dreams.

That would be fantastic.
