Arsenal fans are desperate for their club to get the Viktor Gyokeres deal over the line once and for all.
Andrea Berta has been locked in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon and the representatives of Gyokeres for weeks in an attempt to bring the 27-year-old to North London.
Gyokeres is desperate to join Arsenal and has gone to some extreme lengths to make the deal happen, including refusing to train with his current side during pre-season.
Whilst there is optimism that the deal will eventually come to a positive conclusion for all parties, Mikel Arteta is now set to face disappointment over one demand he made over the transfer.

Viktor Gyokeres deal unlikely to be completed before Arsenal’s pre-season tour
According to journalist Dharmesh Sheth speaking on Sky Sports News ‘Transfer Talk’ podcast, Arsenal are now unlikely to sign Gyokeres before they depart for their pre-season tour of Asia.
Arteta wanted Gyokeres for pre-season but the Spaniard is set to be disappointed despite Berta’s best efforts with the deal.
Sheth stated: “So the total fee is going to be around £64 to £65 million. This sounds a lot less than what Sporting were asking for at the start of the window.
“But there is a reason for this, it’s because this deal has moved on and there’s been a breakthrough simply because Gyokeres’ camp and his representatives have waived the fee that they would due.
“So it hasn’t really impacted Arsenal in any way, but it has impacted Sporting because Sporting is still receiving the total that they would have wanted simply because the money that would have been due to Gyokeres’ representatives has been waived.
“So hence why it looks very, very likely now that this deal is going to move really, really quickly. And look, Arsenal fly out for their preseason tour on Saturday.
“It will be a push if they can get it all done before then. But I’m sure that they will want Gyokeres to be featuring in some shape or form during that preseason tour, be it flying out on Saturday or joining them while they’re already out there. So Gyokeres to Arsenal feels like now it is a case of when and not if.”
Viktor Gyokeres hoping to repeat Gabriel Jesus impact at Arsenal
The pre-season of 2022 will always be remembered by Arsenal fans for the stunning introduction to life at the club by Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus arrived at the Emirates from Premier League rivals Manchester City and scored within two minutes on his debut against German side Nuremberg.
There will be a lot of pressure and expectation on Gyokeres when he arrives at the club and Arteta is desperate for him to have as much time as possible to settle at the club.
The Asia tour would give him a chance to get to know teammates and start building relationships before the spotlight of the season opener at Old Trafford.
