Arsenal close to agreement for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard

Arsenal bid £9.3m for Christian Norgaard and now Ornstein has revealed that the Gunners are close to an agreement with their Premier League rivals over the Dane.

Thomas Frank loves Norgaard as the new Spurs boss spent time with the midfielder at the Bees and hailed him as ‘one of the best defensive midfielders in the league’.

It was important that the Gunners added to their midfield options after losing Jorginho this summer as well as Partey.

Norgaard will join Martin Zubimendi as new recruits in the middle of the park and Arteta can use Norgaard in a number of ways throughout the season given his versatility and experience.

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Christian Norgaard

With the agreement on a fee close, Arsenal have also been boosted by the news that personal terms have already been agreed with the 31-year-old midfielder.

Norgaard has told Brentford of his desire to make the switch to North London and has already agreed a salary with the Gunners.

Details of that contract are yet to be known but Arsenal fans can begin to get excited over a very smart acquisition.

Berta has moved swiftly to replace Partey and can now turn his attentions back to securing a centre forward and winger as the Gunners bid to end their trophy drought.
