Arsenal are amongst a host of Premier League clubs with an interest in Oscar Gloukh.

According to a report in The Guardian, the Gunners, along with Manchester City, Manchester United, and Spurs, are keeping an eye on the development of Oscar Gloukh.

The Israeli attacking midfielder is currently representing his country in the European Under-21 Championships. Gloukh has already bagged a goal and two assists in the tournament. He will be looking to add to his tally when Israel meet England in the semi-final this evening.

The 19-year-old’s form has also been noted by AC Milan, Monaco, and Villarreal. La Liga giants Barcelona have also previously shown an interest. Competition for the Red Bull Salzburg youngster seems likely to be intense. If he continues to impress he may well be on the move again soon, despite only joining the Austrian outfit in January.

Who is Oscar Gloukh?

Gloukh started his career in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv, making his senior debut for the club in August 2021. He scored on his Israeli Premier League debut in April 2022. By the end of the year he was a regular in the side and had impressed sufficiently for Red Bull Salzburg to sign him on a four-and-a-half year contract.

Gloukh has since gone from strength to strength in the Austrian Bundesliga and helped Salzburg to lift their tenth successive league title at the end of the season. He is now shining for the under-21s and has already been capped six times and scored twice at senior international level.

Gloukh certainly has talent. However, whether he can translate that into impressive performances in one of Europe’s major leagues remains to be seen. From the Gunner’s perspective, Mikel Arteta may see Gloukh’s signing as a worthwhile gamble if they can beat their rivals to the punch and secure his services for a fair price. Arsenal are already set to spend big this summer, but there may be enough left in the coffers for a punt on Gloukh.
