Mikel Arteta will need to bring attacking reinforcements to the Emirates Stadium in the near future.
Arsenal have already struggled to score goals at times this season, particularly whilst Martin Odegaard was sidelined with injury.
Reinforcing his attacking contingent over the course of the upcoming January and summer transfer windows will be a priority for Mikel Arteta.
Whilst Arsenal have been told to sign a striker, there is also an argument that the Gunners lack playmakers, with Emile Smith Rowe having moved on in the summer. On top of that, there is a need for new wingers in North London.
Bukayo Saka requires reliable cover, and Raheem Sterling has failed to step up since his loan arrival from Chelsea. On top of that, Reiss Nelson won’t want to stay at Arsenal after his loan spell with Fulham comes to an end.

Arsenal in Jamie Gittens transfer race
As such, Arsenal are already eyeing-up potential targets who could come in and add extra quality in the wide areas.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, reporting on X: “Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all interested in Dortmund’s new superstar Jamie Gittens and are closely monitoring his situation!”
“At the moment, Gittens is not planning a transfer in the summer. In the long term, however, he sees himself playing in the Premier League. Dortmund is reportedly seeking around €100 million for him.”
With Gittens valued at around £83 million, he certainly won’t come cheaply. However, the 20-year-old is a potential star of the future who looks to have taken huge strides forward in his development this season.
Should Gittens be a top target for Mikel Arteta?
Gittens is undoubtedly an exciting talent, and has been in fine form of late. The former Manchester City academy ace has racked up 8 goals and 4 assists in 19 appearances, across all competitions, so far this season.
However, an out-and-out centre-forward still needs to be at the top of Arteta’s shopping list. Whilst Kai Havertz has led the line impressively for the Gunners, he is not the most prolific of strikers.
Meanwhile, the time has come for Arsenal to give up on Gabriel Jesus. It is clear that the Brazilian cannot deliver anything like the level of end product required.
Arteta must forget about Gittens for now and focus on bringing in a striker capable of firing Arsenal to the Premier League title they crave.
