Arsenal and Chelsea are both expected to be very active in the transfer window this summer.
The Gunners are the Premier League champions and one of the best teams in the world. They need to strengthen to increase the gap between themselves and the teams behind them.
Chelsea, on the other hand, finished 10th last season. They were awful in the second half of the campaign and deservedly missed out on European football.
Both clubs are now looking ahead to the new season, and they have been linked with a few of the same players. One of them could be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?
Chelsea are about to win the race to sign Marco Palestra
Marco Palestra has been one of the best full-backs in Italy over the last 12 months.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta, and his performances there linked him with moves to several top clubs.
Arsenal were one of the clubs who wanted to sign Palestra as a potential replacement for Ben White, who could leave the club.
The Italian would’ve been a great signing for Arsenal, but if reports are to be believed, they are set to miss out.
A number of journalists, including Gianluca Di Marzio, have revealed that Chelsea have struck a €60 million deal to sign Palestra.
Inter Milan had been trying to get him for several weeks now, but the Blues’ late move has blown the Nerazzurri out of the water.
Palestra is expected to complete his move to Chelsea imminently now, and that is a shame for Arsenal.

Marco Palestra would’ve been perfect for Arsenal
Arsenal will need a top-class replacement for Ben White if he ends up leaving the club before the summer window shuts.
Palestra checks all the boxes.
The Atalanta defender is a right-back by trade, but he can play further ahead as a winger on either side of the pitch as well. He even grew up as a midfielder, which means he could do a job in the middle of the park as well.
Furthermore, Palestra is just as comfortable inverting as he is while he is overlapping on the right flank. That trait is extremely important in Mikel Arteta’s system.
That is why the young Italian would’ve been perfect for Arsenal, but by not making a move for him, they have allowed Chelsea to get him now.
