The January transfer window is open, but Arsenal are busy planning for the summer.
Nobody expected the Gunners to sign anyone in the winter window, and the fact that their injured players are all returning to action has reduced any need for new additions.
Arsenal are strong enough to go all the way in every competition with the squad they have, but in the summer, they will surely sign a few new players.
One of them could be Jeremy Jacquet.
Be honest. Do Arsenal really need another defender?
Arsenal are ‘serious contenders’ to sign Jeremy Jacquet
Arsenal have been linked with quite a few defenders in recent weeks.
Marc Guehi is said to be a target for the Gunners, while Newcastle United star Tino Livramento is also said to be on Mikel Arteta’s radar for the summer.
Young Jacquet was linked with a move to the Emirates a few months ago, but those rumours quietened down after Arsenal signed Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie.
Now, TeamTalk have revealed Arteta’s side have suddenly become ‘serious contenders’ to sign Jacquet again in the summer transfer window.

However, the North Londoners face competition from Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The report further states that Jacquet could be a replacement for Arsenal star Ben White, who has been linked with a move away from the club.
Rennes have realised that they will lose their talented youngster and are now hoping for a bidding war in the summer to drive the price up.

Jeremy Jacquet is ‘one of the most wanted young players in Europe’
Several clubs across the continent are tracking Jacquet.
In fact, the report claims that the defender is ‘one of the most wanted young players in Europe’ right now, and it is no surprise that Arsenal want to sign him.
The Gunners have had success signing defenders from Ligue 1.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes joined the club from Saint-Etienne and Lille respectively, and they are the best in the world right now.
If Jacquet even gets close to their level, he will be a fine signing for Arsenal.
