Arsenal are rivalling Liverpool for the transfer of a dynamic Euro 2024 star and have now learned that they can get his signature for £33.5m with his club open to offers.
The European Championship was very beneficial for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta and Edu utilised it as another scouting opportunity. David Raya will also bring a Euro 2024 winners’ medal to north London after helping Spain reach the final, where they beat England 2-1 last weekend.
Arsenal trio Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale and Declan Rice also helped England into the final of Euro 2024. Now, they may even see a player the Three Lions met in Germany join them at Emirates Stadium. Yet Arsenal will have to rival Liverpool as both now know the asking price.

Borussia Dortmund are open to offers for Donyell Malen
That is according to Bild, which reports that Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested in the transfer of Borussia Dortmund and Netherlands forward Donyell Malen. The Premier League rivals are monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation with BVB open to offers of €40m (£33.5m).
Westfalenstadion chiefs will let Malen leave the Bundesliga giants if the bid falls in that price range. But no side has yet approached BVB with an enquiry to open talks. So, Bild only rates Malen’s chances of leaving Borussia Dortmund in the current transfer market at 50 per cent.

Yet Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in Malen’s transfer after he scored two goals at Euro 2024 for the Netherlands. The 37-cap forward fired a brace to beat Romania 3-0 in the last 16. But Malen could not help Oranje beat England in the semi-finals during a 45-minute role.
Donyell Malen is open to returning to Arsenal
Malen started two of his four appearances at Euro 2024 and made each outing on their right wing. But Arsenal and Liverpool are considering his transfer as the Wieringen native is also a natural on the left or as a centre-forward. Malen also hit 15 goals in 38 BVB games last term.

His haul included scoring 13 times in 27 Bundesliga games, with 11 fired from the right-wing plus one as a left winger and as a centre-forward. Now, Arsenal may look fondly on Borussia Dortmund’s stance to bring Malen back to N5 following two years in the Gunners’ academy.
Arsene Wenger signed Malen from AFC Ajax in 2015 to join Arsenal’s academy at the Under-18s level. But he never featured for the Gunners’ first-team before moving to PSV Eindhoven two years later. Borussia Dortmund later signed Malen in 2021 after 55 goals in 116 fixtures.
Malen has already said he is open to re-joining Arsenal and that it remains a ‘dream’ to play in the Premier League. The Dutchman also ‘really wanted’ to break through in north London as an academy graduate but never featured in a first-team squad before departing in 2017.
