Arsenal and Chelsea share a fierce rivalry.

The Blues aren’t the Gunners’ biggest rivals in London, but they have still done enough over the years for Gooners to dislike them.

From stealing Ashley Cole away from Arsenal many years ago to luring Mykhaylo Mudryk away from Mikel Arteta’s clutches more recently, Chelsea have been a pain.

Now, Arsenal have a chance to get some revenge on the West Londoners.

Arsenal could still sign Jamie Gittens even though he has agreed to join Chelsea

Jamie Gittens was one of the most exciting wingers in Europe last season.

The Englishman is still only 20 years old, but he managed to directly contribute to 17 goals in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea were in talks to sign the ‘unstoppable‘ Gittens before the mini window shut, and they have even agreed personal terms to sign him.

However, an agreement with Dortmund has not been reached yet, and Ben Jacobs has suggested that Arsenal could swoop in for him.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the journalist said: “Still, we should add Jamie Gittens (on the list of players Arsenal could sign).

“I know people think that move to Chelsea is a foregone conclusion. He has agreed a seven-year deal with the Blues, but they have not agreed a package with Dortmund.

“The expectation is that when the window reopens, Chelsea will continue to negotiate for Jamie Gittens, and they are not far off.

“But, don’t entirely discount Arsenal. That might be a slightly left-field profile to look at if Chelsea can’t agree a fee with Dortmund.”

How much will Jamie Gittens cost Arsenal?

Arsenal’s primary targets for the left-wing position are Nico Williams and Rodrygo.

The Real Madrid star would definitely be the dream signing, but it is still unclear if he wants to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Elsewhere in Spain, Lamine Yamal has hinted that Williams is joining Barcelona, which means Arsenal should move on after chasing him for over a year.

Gittens would be a very good option instead of the above two, and Jacobs revealed on X that the winger will be available for just £45 million this summer.

That’s way cheaper than Rodrygo and Williams.
