Andrea Berta could be tempted to explore Arsenal’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window, with a new opportunity arising.
After Arsenal’s win over Manchester United, it became clearer than ever what the Gunners are still lacking.
Mikel Arteta has only welcomed two attackers to his squad this summer, with additional support needed in the final third.
The lack of chances Arsenal created against Man United was a real problem, but now, Berta could find the missing piece of the puzzle by revisiting a place he’s already searched.

Arsenal handed bargain Rodrygo opportunity
Arsenal have shown interest in Rodrygo this summer, as the winger’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain.
Though it’s understood that the Brazilian would prefer to stay in Madrid, Los Blancos might have another idea.
Journalist Guillem Balague gave an update on Rodrygo’s transfer status, informing that while the 24-year-old has received ‘zero offers’ and has no desire to leave, Real Madrid could lower their asking price.
With the end of the market in sight, Balague suspects that Real Madrid ‘would accept less’ than their initial €100m asking price.
Balague queried whether a price in the region of €60m-€70m could be enough to tempt the Spanish giants to part ways with the Brazil international this summer.
The idea of luring Rodrygo from the Bernabeu for as little as €60m (£51m) is staggering, with the reported minimum fee eclipsing the £52m package Arsenal paid Chelsea for Noni Madueke.
Balague did, however, report that Arsenal are yet to make a formal approach to Real Madrid for Rodrygo, who has only been handed one start since Xabi Alonso took charge.
Rodrygo is everything Arsenal need
Described as ‘world-class’ by former teammate Luka Modric after Real Madrid’s win over Espanyol in September 2024, Rodrygo would certainly add the quality Arsenal’s attack is crying out for.
Berta has a huge opportunity to explore a potential deal for the Brazilian, who is not thought to be a starter under Alonso.
Balague’s update suggests that Real Madrid see a gap in the market to possibly sell Rodrygo, which is perfect for Arsenal, who desperately need a player of his profile.
Being a left-winger with experience of playing amongst the world’s best, revisiting Rodrygo could be the missing piece to Arteta’s puzzle.
