Arsenal could sign Nketiah upgrade for just £15m, he ‘dreams of the Premier League’

Arsenal were previously linked with a move for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, and a move could still happen in the summer.

The 27-year-old has been in outstanding form in the Bundesliga this season, with an astonishing 18 goals in 17 games, and his deadly finishing has attracted interest from all over Europe.

Arsenal have been linked with several strikers including Victor Osimhen, but he could come at a heavy cost, and Guirassy would certainly be a much cheaper alternative.

With Eddie Nketiah looking likely to leave in the summer, Guirassy could come as an immediate upgrade on the England International, and he is seemingly keen on a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal target Serhou Guirassy is keen on Premier League

Speaking on The Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano revealed that despite interest from clubs including Arsenal in January, Guirassy intended to stay at Stuttgart. However, he is keen on a move to England in the summer.

“Yes, the release clause will still be there in the summer in July, €17.5m (£15m),” he stated.

“And the feeling of sources is that yes, Guirassy will make a move in the summer transfer window.

“He was already close to that in January, then he decided to respect Stuttgart and stay there until the end of the season and also the African Cup [of Nations] made a difference in his decision because the player was not available until February.

“So, this is why Guirassy decided to stay until the summer.

“Many clubs are showing an interest in Guirassy, and from what I’m hearing, the player’s priority will still be the Premier League.

“He still dreams of Premier League football, so let’s see what kind of proposals there will be in the table.”

Nketiah has fallen down the pecking order upfront at Arsenal, and is still on five league goals compared to Guirassy’s 18.

The 24-year-old does have more assists, with four compared to Guirassy’s one, but it is clear that the Stuttgart star would resemble a more clinical option upfront.

Guirassy stands at 1.87m tall, and brings much more threat in the air than Nketiah, who stands below him at 1.75m.

This summer could see a scenario where Nketiah is sold for a potentially sizeable fee, and pure financial fair play profit given his homegrown status, and a new striker brought in. Guirassy would be something of a gamble, but a potentially cheap one with plenty of upside given his strong goal record if someone like Osimhen cannot be secured.
