The excitement among Arsenal fans for the new season is growing as pre-season is just around the corner.

After a slow start to the summer transfer window, Andrea Berta has kicked into life, securing new contracts for Myles Lewis-Skelly and Gabriel Magalhaes. Ethan Nwaneri is also close to signing a new deal.

Arsenal have already completed three transfers with Martin Zubimendi adamant he will be a success at the club after his £51m transfer.

Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke are expected to complete their transfers before the squad depart for Asia but fans have been rocked by news that their title rivals are interested in Mikel Arteta’s dream signing.

Arsenal fans react to Liverpool interest in Alexander Isak

Liverpool are interested in signing Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak this summer with the Swede being a long-term target for the Gunners.

Arsenal fans have taken to X to voice their opinion over the reported transfer and are of the belief that should Liverpool complete a deal for Isak, it would not be good news for Arteta.

One fan stated: “How underwhelming would Gyokeres feel now if Liverpool sign Isak, surely we have to change our plans?”

Another Arsenal supporter wrote: “How can this be happening? Another season of second place for us then.”

Another Arsenal fan even stated that the news coming out of Liverpool means that the Gyokeres deal won’t even be celebrated, they wrote: “Arsenal took so long to sign/announce Gyokeres that we can’t even enjoy it anymore. Isak to Liverpool.”

Alexander Isak gave Arsenal torrid time last season

Should Isak sign for Liverpool, it really would hurt the Gunners’ chances of beating the Anfield club to the Premier League title next season.

Liverpool finished ten points ahead of Arsenal last season and would be adding a world-class player that gave William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes nightmares.

The Newcastle striker was one of few players to get the better of the formidable centre-back partnership and scored on three separate occasions across the season.

Arsenal will be focussing on their own squad and Gyokeres certainly fills a void they have been craving for months, however, an envious eye will be drawn to Merseyside should a reported £130m deal be completed.
