Arsenal could have the chance to sign long-term target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this month, as per the latest reports.
Arsenal were linked to Kvaratskhelia in 2023, being admirers of the Napoli star who has been dominating on the wing in Serie A.
The 23-year-old guided Napoli to be crowned Italian champions in the 2022/23 campaign, starring alongside fellow Arsenal target Victor Osimhen.
Amid Mikel Arteta’s side’s struggles in attack, a possible opening to sign the Georgian has emerged, in what could present a daring opportunity for the Gunners.

Napoli willing to sell Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January transfer window
The Gunners were alerted to Kvaratskhelia’s contract situation last year, as the forward has had an uncertain future in Naples for some time.
Now, it appears that the Georgian is nearing the end of his time in Italy, as journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported.
The Sky Sports reporter relayed that there is now ‘an opening’ for the 23-year-old to leave Napoli this month however, Paris-Saint Germain are believed to be the frontrunners.
While PSG want to lure the Serie A star to Ligue 1, Georgian journalist Lasha Kokiashvili claimed that the Parisians aren’t the only side eyeing Kvaratskhelia, stating that ‘English clubs are also closely monitoring’ the situation.
Whether Arsenal are one of those clubs remains to be seen, in what could be a fascinating development in European football to eye.
Kvaratskhelia could be Arsenal’s answer to Gabriel Martinelli’s woes
TBR linked Kvaratskhelia to Arsenal in October, placing the Gunners in the race alongside Liverpool.
It’s clear to see why the Gunners are interested in the Georgian, who at 23, has consistently been one of the most exciting wide players in Italy.
The same can’t be said for some of the wingers currently in the Arsenal squad, with reinforcements required to offer competition for the likes of Gabriel Martinelli.
| Season | Khvicha Kvaratskhelia | Gabriel Martinelli |
| 2022/23 | 31 | 21 |
| 2023/24 | 20 | 13 |
| 2024/25 | 8 | 8 |
| Total | 59 | 42 |
While the Brazilian’s form has started to improve, we are yet to see shades of the 2022/23 version of the left-winger, who was unstoppable.
Since scoring 15 in the Premier League that season, Martinelli has netted only 11 league goals in the past year and a half, telling of where he must improve.
Arsenal are struggling as a result of their out-of-form forwards, not only Martinelli, with added quality certainly needed.
Arteta’s search could end with Kvaratskhelia if the Gunners decide to explore the player’s situation at Napoli, in what could be a remarkable winter transfer.
