Arsenal are looking to make early moves ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are eager to have Mikel Arteta’s squad for next season in place before pre-season commences, so that the Spaniard has ample time to work with his new additions.
Martin Zubimendi is set to sign for Arsenal for £51 million, with the North Londoners expected to trigger the 25-year-old’s release clause after reaching an agreement with the player.
Meanwhile, deals for a striker and a winger are being conducted behind the scenes, and Andrea Berta now appears to be set on one specific number nine.

Arsenal make £63m bid for Viktor Gyokeres
Alexander Isak is Mikel Arteta’s dream signing, while Benjamin Sesko has also been monitored by the Gunners hierarchy for some time.
However, Isak is likely to be too expensive, and Sesko doesn’t possess the experience Berta feels Arsenal need to win a major honour next season.
Thus, Viktor Gyokeres has emerged as the most likely striker acquisition, with the sporting director understood to be a huge admirer of the Swede.
Arsenal Insider revealed on Friday that Premier League clubs believe Gyokeres is set to join Arsenal, and there has been another development on this front.
According to Portuguese outlet Correio de Manha, Arsenal have submitted an opening offer worth €75 million (£63 million) for Gyokeres.
The publication suggests that the Gunners have already agreed personal terms with the 26-year-old, meaning if Sporting accept the initial bid, then the deal should be able to proceed quickly.
Gyokeres is enjoying an outstanding season for Sporting, netting 52 goals in all competitions thus far.

How would Viktor Gyokeres fit in at Arsenal?
Arriving with a sensational goal-scoring pedigree, Gyokeres will expect to become Arsenal’s first-choice striker immediately if he ends up in N5.
However, coming from the Primeira Liga, he may need some time to adjust to the English top flight, and Arteta may opt to rotate him in and out with Kai Havertz from the beginning.
| Gyokeres’ Primeira Liga Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 31 |
| Goals | 38 |
| Assists | 6 |
| Non-Penalty Goals | 26 |
| Shots | 4.08 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 1.0 |
| Non-Penalty Expected Goals per 90 | 0.67 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 2.02 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.23 |
However, once he settles, you’d expect him to lead the line with fellow Scandinavian Martin Odegaard feeding him in the pockets behind.
Accumulating an impressive 0.67 non-penalty expected goals per 90 minutes, Gyokeres’ movement and ability to find chances inside the box is outstanding.
This trait should translate to the Premier League, which would make him a frightening proposition for opposition defenders to face.
